Chapter 734: 234. Do it quietly

Inside the magic yacht.

Hadley Grant, as the captain, was sitting in the control room, staring with big eyes at the somewhat uneasy Mermaid Vivian.

Vivian, with a human torso and a fish tail, found it difficult to move after leaving the sea water environment and was particularly prone to dehydration.

She needed the help of merfolk magic to move on land.

A crystal-clear water membrane served as a barrier to separate her from the dry air, locking up the moisture in her body.

With the help of merfolk magic, her fish tail turned into two human legs covered in fine scales.

A dress condensed with magic protected her body well, fully woven from items such as shells, coral, and seaweed.

Due to the language barrier, after Hadley brought Vivian aboard, he could only use gestures and actions to barely express his intentions.

He hastily prepared a guestroom for Vivian, completely forgetting that merfolk used sea shells as houses…

It was not until he had the room ready and entered the control room to see Vivian sitting in a life-sized white seashell that he realized his efforts were unnecessary.

“Uh, do you want to eat something? Uh…I mean, ah-woo, ah-woo.” Hadley made a gesture of stuffing something into his mouth.

Vivian looked at him, wide-eyed and confused, trying to understand his meaning.

Just as the two were having an awkward conversation, the sound of the cabin door opening was heard from the stern of the boat.

Hadley sensed the movement at the stern of the ship and sighed with relief, saying:

“Thank goodness, Jarvis has finally returned.”

Hadley breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, heading towards the water pressure cabin at the stern of the ship.

Seeing the skeleton coming out of the cabin, Hadley anxiously asked:

“How is it? Is that huge sea serpent dead? Did you encounter any trouble?”

Noland Lee activated the Cleaning Array on his magic robe, wiped the water from his body, removed the “Breath of the Dead,” and returned to human form:

“All is well, Hadley. I took care of that sea serpent. I’ve searched its nest and stayed in the Blue Cave a little longer, picking up quite a few useful items from the dragon clan collection.”

“That’s great, as long as there was no trouble… I can’t believe you really took care of that sea serpent,” Hadley couldn’t help but exclaim.

Noland’s eyes glanced past the man in front of him toward Vivian, who was riding the floating seashells into the corridor.

He took out a magic pouch and handed it to Vivian with “Mage’s Hand,” saying:

“Once again, I am deeply sorry for the suffering of your clan. I found many seashells in the sea serpent’s nest. Time was limited, so I could only choose some of the more intact ones to bring back.”

The magic pouch fell into Vivian’s hands.

She held back tears, opened the pouch, took a look inside, and sobbed:

“Woo-woo…ya-ya-ya…ya-ya-ya…”

To the merfolk, seashells were a lifelong magical item.

It served as the home, “magic pouch,” and vehicle for merfolk.

One “magic pouch” couldn’t be placed inside another, as this would cause a spatial chaos disaster within the pouch, manifesting as the pouch exploding with a bang.

The fact that Noland could put the seashells in the magic pouch just meant that these seashells had lost their “magic pouch” attributes.

They changed from being magical creations of the merfolk to ordinary shells.

The disappearance of magic features echoed the passing of their masters.

Right now, the lifeless seashells Noland had brought Vivian were equivalent to the corpses of her tribespeople in her eyes.

When Noland collected the seashells, he had deliberately checked for ownership with Deconstruction magic and brought back the seashells belonging to Vivian’s parents.

Vivian took her parents’ seashells out of the magic pouch, clutched them tightly, pressed them close to her chest, and murmured the condolence verses for the deceased that are customary for the merfolk.

Noland and Hadley remained silent, exchanging glances and then quietly walking into the adjacent guestroom to talk.

Hadley asked worriedly:

“How do you plan to accommodate her, Jarvis? Our journey is aimed at the dragon clan collection in the Blue Cave. If there’s a mermaid lady around, our work will inevitably be hindered.”

Noland had considered this issue while collecting the dragon clan artefacts in the Blue Cave.

He already had a clear plan in mind:

“Hadley, I have collected enough dragon clan items.”

Noland patted the bulging magic pouch at his waist:

“Look, my magic pouch is about to burst. Our goal for this trip has been achieved ahead of schedule.”

“Really?! You’re so fast?!” Hadley’s eyes widened as he stared at Noland’s magic pouch.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Yes. Time is money, my friend.” Noland smiled.

When Hadley was not around, he could throw himself into the work.

As long as he let the earth spirits use Rock Creation Magic to seal the tunnels with magic rocks, he could drive the undercurrents into other tunnels while he focused on collecting the dragon clan items in the cave.

With Deconstruction magic in hand, the task was much easier to do.

Of course, a little bit of wisdom from a quality education was essential.

Besides, Noland used sorting, marking, and comparison methods to manually divide the sediment into several heaps, utilizing Deconstruction magic to quickly differentiate the value of each heap, and then defined the higher-value sediments as the highest-priority collection objects.
