Chapter 106 - 100 Qiao Jing Attacked Midway

“To tell the truth, Mr. Zhan’s wife, Qiao Jing, saved my daughter’s life a few days ago. Just now, she had my son come over to speak about this matter. Saving a life is a debt greater than heaven. Since our benefactor has made this request, our Gan family naturally cannot refuse. Therefore, I hope President Qian can understand. I also hope that in the future we can have opportunities to collaborate on other projects.”

With these words, Gan Changfeng made it clear to Qian Haisheng that on this project, not just this year, but next year and in the years to come, the Gan family would establish a long-term cooperation with the Zhan family.

“President Gan, you could certainly repay the favor in other ways. This project has always been handled by our Qian Family, and no one is more familiar with it than us. You suddenly handing it over to the Zhan Family, aren’t you afraid they’ll mess it up?”

“There’s no need for President Qian to worry about that. Although President Zhan is younger than us, he is a man of ability. Ever since he took over the Zhan Family, he directly developed it into the capital’s wealthiest family. I believe in his capability.”

Hearing Gan Changfeng say this, Qian Haisheng knew there was no room for any turnaround in this matter.

It was truly a case of losing the wife and the army!

If he had known earlier, he would have abducted Gan Qiqi after the project handover.

Now, not only had the abduction failed, but this person named Qiao Jing had also taken advantage of the situation.

With this in mind, Qian Haisheng glared furiously at Qiao Jing.

Damn it!

All because of this woman.

He wanted her dead!

Qian Haisheng immediately instructed his men to carry out this task.

In no more than three days, he wanted Qiao Jing to completely disappear from the capital.

Early the next morning, Qiao Jing stepped out of her house and felt she was being followed.

Considering the events of the past few days, Qiao Jing suspected that those tracking her were the same criminals who tried to abduct Gan Qiqi.

Captain Zhao happened to be troubled by these fish that slipped through the net that day. Since they had presented themselves, she was not going to be polite.

Qiao Jing glanced subtly over her shoulder, then quickened her pace, deliberately leading the people into a small alley to take action without causing a disturbance.

As she walked, Qiao Jing sent a message to Captain Zhao. After dealing with the situation, Captain Zhao could take the men away.

There were about a dozen people following Qiao Jing, each one a first-class assassin.

“Second Master, she has gone into the alley,” reported the assassin.

Qian Haisheng paused the action of turning his jade beads, narrowed his small eyes, which were full of impending danger.

“Be quick about it.”

“Yes!”

Qian Yuang’s face showed a hint of regret. “Dad, you don’t appreciate the fairer sex. Such a beauty is hard to find. It’d be better if you let me have my fun first before killing her. What’s the hurry?”

Qian Haisheng glanced at Qian Yuang with irritation. “I’ve told you long ago, with your greedy and lustful nature, you’ll one day die on a woman’s belly. Although Qiao Jing has no background, she is now nominally a person of the Zhan Family. We must deal with her cleanly and leave not a single trace. And you’re thinking of satisfying yourself, aren’t you afraid that will create unwanted complications?”

Qian Yuang pouted and impatiently said, scratching his ear, “I got it, I got it. Isn’t it enough that I’m not mentioning it anymore?”

Qiao Jing stopped, turned her head to look at the group of assassins rushing towards her, her eyes narrowed slightly, and her expression was completely devoid of panic.

When she was very young, she had followed Grandpa Zhang to the border battlefields, where skirmishes happened ever so often. She had also been to the tropical rainforests with Grandpa Zhang, who taught her how to survive in such perilous conditions, among other things.

So for her, this skirmish was nothing more than a stretch.

Ten minutes later, the assassins lay scattered all over the ground.

Qiao Jing dusted off her hands as if it were all in a day’s work.

Just then, suddenly an assassin clambered up from the ground, attempting to escape.

“Trying to run away?”

Did you ask her?

Qiao Jing took a swift lunge forward, gripping the opponent’s arm before forcefully kicking behind his knee.

“Crack—” a sound, it broke.

But it wasn’t over yet; after breaking one leg, she went for the other.

Another “Crack—” rang out.

The assassin’s legs were disabled, and he could only kneel on the ground.

The other assassins, seeking ways to flee and seeing their comrade’s fate, were so frightened that they cowered in place like quails, daring not to move.

Because they had just seen, as Qiao Jing broke their comrade’s legs, there was not a hint of hesitation on her face, not even a trace of expression—as if what she was snapping wasn’t a leg but a cucumber.

This woman, with her slim arms and legs, appearing so frail, was unexpectedly terrifying! No wonder Qian Haisheng had hired so many people to kill her.

But Qian Haisheng didn’t anticipate that this girl would be far more terrifying than he could ever imagine!

As they were internally terrified about how Qiao Jing would dispose of them, Captain Zhao arrived with a group of people.

It was the police! They came so quickly? So, had Qiao Jing discovered them earlier and deliberately led them to this deserted alley? And did she call the police while they were not paying attention?

The thought was frightening, the more they thought, the deeper their fear of Qiao Jing grew.

Who on earth was this girl?

“Miss Qiao, you’re not hurt, are you?”

Captain Zhao was more concerned about Qiao Jing’s safety than about capturing these criminals.

“They couldn’t hurt me,” Qiao Jing said, her cool gaze sweeping over the assassins. “Search them. They’re probably just hired killers.”

Qiao Jing had come to this conclusion during the fight with them.

These people aimed for vital spots with every move, and their coordination was excellent, evidence of well-trained assassins.

“Alright, you, you, and you, search them.”

Soon, the cell phones on all of the assassins were searched and found.

“Check the most recent outgoing calls,” said Qiao Jing, surmising from experience that the assassins must have phoned their employer.

“Got it, this strange phone number has no contact name,” a police officer handed the cell phone to Captain Zhao and Qiao Jing.

Captain Zhao and Qiao Jing almost simultaneously turned their gaze toward the assassins.

“Make the call,” Captain Zhao handed the phone to one of the assassins.

“What phone call? What are you talking about? I don’t understand. We just thought she was pretty, so we came over to chat, but then she suddenly started attacking us,” the assassins were clever, denying everything. Since they hadn’t hurt Qiao Jing at all, with no evidence against them, they figured they’d just be detained for a few days before being released.

“Hey, you!” Captain Zhao was getting angry, though with someone else, he might have been more inclined to believe the story, but Qiao Jing? Whatever she said was the strongest evidence.

“It’s not difficult to make him cooperate,” Qiao Jing walked over.

Curious, Captain Zhao asked, “What do you plan to do? You can’t use violence.”

“Don’t worry, I am a model citizen; I wouldn’t engage in illegal activities. Just wait until I break his limbs and then fix them back; no one will know,” Qiao Jing said expressionlessly.
